  • Angie Nunez

    Office Manager

    Angie was born and raised in Lake Charles, LA. Angie is married to Eric Nunez and has three sons. She is very involved with them at school and in their sports. She volunteers regularly at school and with their baseball, basketball and football teams. Angie began working with HR One several years ago and left for a short time to work part time and be home with her children more. After her youngest child entered school, she returned as a payroll clerk. As Angie's career grew, she developed an interest in management and has recently been promoted to a supervisor of office and administrative workers. She is responsible for supervising and coordinating the tasks, calendars and schedules of all staff. She handles the firm's billing process and the billing for client's that outsource their business to our firm. She works hands on with several clients and has developed such a good relationship with them that she still enjoys processing payroll for clients and also assists in payroll and bookkeeping. She handles administrative assistant duties such as answering phones at times, handling faxes, copies, tax return assembly and handles requesting client signatures. She also handles tracking electronic return filings, supplies and inventory management. She handles the marketing efforts of the firm as well as the social media and events.

  • DeAnn Peet

    Payroll Manager

    DeAnn grew up in Welsh, LA and now resides in Lacassine, LA. She is married to Mark Peet and has five children. DeAnn is involved in her church, Preparing the Way Ministries and helps with the Lacassine cheerleaders. She works as HR One's payroll manager to manage and guarantee weekly disbursement of multi-state payroll, including garnishments, benefits and taxes consistent with federal and state wage and hour laws. Her job includes ensuring the processing of new hires, temporary workers, transfers, promotions and terminations are accurate and timely. She supervises the payroll staff and reviews and analyzes current payroll, benefits and tax procedures in order to recommend and implement changes leading to best-practice operations. She also ensures that all systems are set-up and updated to reflect our current employee base, including wages, benefits, sick and vacation time in line with contracts (union and non-union). DeAnn manages regular preparation of relevant management reports, including weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports (gross payroll, hours worked, vacation accrual, tax deductions, benefit deductions, etc.) When DeAnn is not working, she enjoys camping, sewing, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends.

    Bookkeeper

    Linda and her family live in Iowa, LA. Linda has over 20 years experience doing bookkeeping and has a passion for helping other small businesses. She is extremely dedicated to her family, work and the clients she works with. She works closely with individuals and small businesses in preparation, explanation and verification of accounting documents and/or records. She updates and maintains accounting transactions, ledgers and other records detailing financial business transactions (e.g., disbursements, expense vouchers, cash receipts, accounts payable). She enters data into computer system using defined computer programs (SAP) Linda is responsible for compiling data and preparing a variety of reports. She assists in the preparation of financial statements. She recommends actions to resolve discrepancies & investigates questionable data. She spends her time outside of work with her family and enjoys her children and grandchildren.

    Leslie Augustine, President and Founder of HR One, Inc., has been working in accounting for 20 years. In 2005, Leslie opened HR One, Inc., a payroll service bureau and accounting firm that better matched the culture and values that she believes in. Her goal was to build a family-oriented firm where her employees could pursue their career aspirations in accounting while also leading a balanced Christian lifestyle. Leslie is married and has four children and lives in Lacassine, LA. She has had progressively responsible experience working with companies directly through start-up, survival, turnaround and growth modes. Leslie has worked with a variety of industries, including consumer durables, heavy equipment, automotive, building products, agriculture and financial services. Her understanding of both domestic and international distribution channels encompasses retail sales, wholesale, OEM, catalogue sales, direct sales, leasing and government markets. Leslie strongly believes in doing whatever she can to help others and being actively involved in the community. Leslie also manages team members, mentoring them as they grow in the profession, ensuring that all staff members work with a high sense of integrity, provide great customer service professionally and competently, and exercise sensitive professional and moral judgments in all activities. Leslie supports employees in family activities, school involvement, and community service activities to maintain a enjoyable work life balance as well as broaden public confidence. She also supports staff members to further their own passions and education, ensures all employees adhere to technical and ethical standards, and strives continually to improve competence and the quality of services. Next year Leslie is looking forward to one of her daughters, Lauren Devillier, passing her CPA exam and her firm entering into its second generation. Away from work, she enjoys spending time cooking and hanging out with friends and family, reading, & gardening. She likes to travel, spend time at the spa with her friends, the violin and the piano. Leslie likes watching Nascar & UFC and listening to good music. She likes to laugh & play, fight for what's right, & believes everyone can make a difference.

    Accountant

    Lauren grew up in Lacassine, LA. She attended Lacassine High School and is currently in her final year at McNeese State University studying accounting. She is a member of Phi Mu Sorority and has acted in various officer capacities in the past. Lauren has always been extremely involved in several organizations and charities including Children's Miracle Network, The Salvation Army, Abraham's Tent, Coach to Cure Muscular Dystrophy, American Heart Association, Battle Against Breast Cancer, Lifeshare Blood Center, Up Til Dawn St. Jude, Ronald McDonald House, Make a Wish Foundation, Colleges against Cancer, Pedal for a Cure, and others. Lauren began working for HR One in 2005 starting out in administration. She has gradually progressed in her knowledge and experience. Last year Lauren began an internship through McNeese State University and moved up into the accounting department. She has a passion for taxation and has recently transferred to the tax department. She enjoys research and learning about tax issues and regulations. As her experience and proficiency is gained she takes on more difficult assignments and manages greater responsibilities. In her time away from work and school, Lauren enjoys spending time with her friends and family, shopping, traveling, and being outdoors.
